Who We Are

Founded by Melanie Nead in 2017, Lonesome Pictopia creates original wallpapers, murals, and goods inspired by American tattooing, the Arts and Crafts Movement, and the wild spaces of the Pacific Northwest.

After fifteen years as a custom tattooer at beautiful Icon Tattoo Studio in Portland, LP founder Melanie turned her love of plants and pattern to creating one-of-a-kind, hand-painted patterns and murals, with an eye on releasing a line of wallpapers in the spirit of beautiful historic wallcoverings. After years of work and development, we are so proud of our beautiful line of deeply designed wallpapers, traditionally printed in the UK by a sustainable manufacturer of some of the finest wallpapers in the world.

Wallpaper sales support our mission of giving back to the community through partnership with non-profits fighting housing inequality in Portland and beyond.

OUR TEAM

We are an all-female team of friends with a wide-ranging set of skills and experience, including tattooing, architecture, interior design, historic preservation, gilding, film styling, and business management.
