Albee House

We worked with the brilliant design team at Jessica Helgerson Interior Design on the revitalization of this historic house, built in 1912 for Portland mayor, H. Russell Albee. Lead JHID designer Mira Eng-Goetz designed the repeating panels and medallions that we hand-painted on the walls and ceiling in the living room, adding our own flourishes, embellishments, insects, birds, and animals to give the room a feeling that struck a balance between structured and organic, and we painted little creatures on the walls of many rooms throughout the house to create a subtle cohesion throughout the gorgeous house. In the grand, mahogany-paneled dining room, as well as the foyer, we gilded the ceilings with brass leaf to complement the Art Nouveau-era light fixtures and original woodwork.
